The weather during the week leading up to our run to Jenolan caves was bleak to say the least. Temperatures below zero, snow and not to mention the wind chill factor! Sunday morning dawned with blue skies and a frost so I knew we were in for the lovely day I had ordered just the night before.
We all met at the corner of Hampton and Oberon Roads at 10:30am and travelled in convoy to the caves. The sight of 15 Jaguars coming through the Grand Arch had onlookers stunned. We parked the cars well away from the public car parks and wandered down to the Caves House Cafe. The ensuing coffee, cakes, biscuits and soft drinks soon made way for the call to assemble in the Grand Arch for our tour of the Imperial cave. The Imperial was selected because of its easy access and no real tight and difficult sections. Although, Steve Annabel was revelling in watching me pass by some of the lower rock formations. "No need to crouch down here Tommo" is what I was hearing while almost crawling past these lower sections.
After finishing the cave tour we headed for the Grand Dining room in Caves House where we enjoyed a scrumptious 2 course lunch. A few prizes were organised and 5 names were picked out of someone's hat. Prizes varied from a Mike Harbor print of a MK2, crystal ornaments from the caves and a couple of key rings.
Good venue, good company and great weather saw everyone having a wonderful time.
