Well, the 2011 National Rally is over for most of us however the post rally tour continues for a few days. The Concours and Display day was huge with 110 E Types being displayed. I think all of the NSW d'Elegance entrants received Gold awards, such was the high standard of cars which were turned out. Saturday night was a sixties night and I think most if not all of us remember the sixties. Rae was seen with one of the Beatles that night! I wonder where Laurie was? Sunday was the sporting day held at the Queanbeyan hill climb and the alternative event toured some of the local winery's etc.We did our own thing including a visit to Black Mountain and the Telstra Tower. Unfortunately with all the electronic interference up there the Jag's engine immobiliser would not allow us to start the car once stopped. I managed to over ride it by holding the immobiliser button and turning the ignition key at the same time, phew. I thought I might need to have it towed to the bottom of the mountain just to start it!
Sunday night and most of us attended the presentation dinner at the Canberra Hyatt. A great night with E Types on display in the dining room and a string quartet. We started to depart around 11pm ready for the 4:30am bus to the dawn Service. We departed Canberra around 10:30am for the 320km trip home. Another good National Rally.
