We finalised the 2012 calender and Helen has again put her hand up to run an event. This time to the snow in August.See the club magazine and the web sites for further information on all our events. We hope you all have a merry Christmas and a very safe and Jaguar New Year. (2012 calender is at the bottom of this post).

Utes in the Paddock weekend.

If you missed this weekend, well, you missed a good one. We met at Bathurst as usual and traveled to Forbes to meet up with local organiser Helen Dent. From the motel we walked the short distance to the Vandenberg hotel where Steven and Paul cooked a wonderful lunch. After lunch some went for coffee and others visited some of the museums in Forbes and Parkes. Saturday night some of our party went to the Parkes telescope for the Opera under the stars which according to all accounts was great. Sunday morning dawned and after breakfast at the motel dining room we followed Helen to Ootha to visit the Utes. Laurie had organised with the Station owners Graham and Jana Pickles for a special tour of the Utes and the Homestead. After the Utes some traveled home, others who stayed another night in Forbes went off to the telescope for lunch. Another great Western event. Special thanks to Helen and Laurie for all their work over the weekend.

Fosters Run 11/06/2011

The run to Fosters with a stop over at Brian Pleash's workshop was attended by 20 members. We arrived at Brian's around 10:50am and spent about an hour looking over his cars and projects in the workshop. Eventually we were able to encourage the lady's away from the cars and we all headed to the Fosters for lunch via The Lagoon to avoid the vale Rd roadwork's. We spent the afternoon enjoying a lovely lunch at the Foster's in their summer house. This is where we spent the afternoon talking all things Jaguar and not.

Jenolan Caves run. 15th May

The weather during the week leading up to our run to Jenolan caves was bleak to say the least. Temperatures below zero, snow and not to mention the wind chill factor! Sunday morning dawned with blue skies and a frost so I knew we were in for the lovely day I had ordered just the night before.

We all met at the corner of Hampton and Oberon Roads at 10:30am and travelled in convoy to the caves. The sight of 15 Jaguars coming through the Grand Arch had onlookers stunned. We parked the cars well away from the public car parks and wandered down to the Caves House Cafe. The ensuing coffee, cakes, biscuits and soft drinks soon made way for the call to assemble in the Grand Arch for our tour of the Imperial cave. The Imperial was selected because of its easy access and no real tight and difficult sections. Although, Steve Annabel was revelling in watching me pass by some of the lower rock formations. "No need to crouch down here Tommo" is what I was hearing while almost crawling past these lower sections.
After finishing the cave tour we headed for the Grand Dining room in Caves House where we enjoyed a scrumptious 2 course lunch. A few prizes were organised and 5 names were picked out of someone's hat. Prizes varied from a Mike Harbor print of a MK2, crystal ornaments from the caves and a couple of key rings.
Good venue, good company and great weather saw everyone having a wonderful time.

National Rally 2011

Well, the 2011 National Rally is over for most of us however the post rally tour continues for a few days. The Concours and Display day was huge with 110 E Types being displayed. I think all of the NSW d'Elegance entrants received Gold awards, such was the high standard of cars which were turned out. Saturday night was a sixties night and I think most if not all of us remember the sixties. Rae was seen with one of the Beatles that night! I wonder where Laurie was? Sunday was the sporting day held at the Queanbeyan hill climb and the alternative event toured some of the local winery's etc. We did our own thing including a visit to Black Mountain and the Telstra Tower. Unfortunately with all the electronic interference up there the Jag's engine immobiliser would not allow us to start the car once stopped. I managed to over ride it by holding the immobiliser button and turning the ignition key at the same time, phew. I thought I might need to have it towed to the bottom of the mountain just to start it!
Sunday night and most of us attended the presentation dinner at the Canberra Hyatt. A great night with E Types on display in the dining room and a string quartet. We started to depart around 11pm ready for the 4:30am bus to the dawn Service. We departed Canberra around 10:30am for the 320km trip home. Another good National Rally.
